Parenting Tips - Welcome to Parenthood

A new baby is the beginning of all things- joy, wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities. It is the time most awaited by all the members in the family as this child takes them to the next level of life. A young couple is no longer just a couple but now they would be called “PARENTS”. Welcome to parenthood.

This is the time which changes your life forever. A new member becomes the most important part of the family. This time spent with your child would be the most memorable one. A new member, a new responsibility, a new feeling. A new phase of life unfolds. Spending time with your baby, watching him sleep, playing with him and being a part of all melodious noises he makes is going to be a part of your daily routine. The child grows and you grow along with him. Being there for him, supporting him in all phases of his life. In short, this journey of life with your little one is going to be nothing less than a roller coaster ride but undoubtedly a memorable one. And this is what is called “PARENTING”.

Parenting is the process where you support and promote your child physically, emotionally, financially, socially and intellectually. This is a support you provide your child from infancy to adulthood. This for you is going to be challenging, exciting and a learning process. A child brings so much along with him into this world, joy, a positive approach to life and immense happiness and there is so much we learn from a child, to love selflessly, to be true and pure like a dove. Parenting comes slowly and naturally. It is more like a learning process. Everyday will be a new day. There are no guidelines in parenting. Every couple has a different approach towards their child, a different thought process, a different way of dealing with things. Some help from the elders do work, but not always. Parenting self-help books are a big no, as the tips are not applicable to all babies.

Developmental milestones and Nutritional development are a part of parenting.  Smiling for the first time, yawning, recognizing a person’s face, responding and being alert to the sounds etc are referred to as developmental milestones. It is very important to understand that every child develops at his/her own pace and every child is a different individual. They possess different milestones. No two children will have the same milestone. Do not worry if your child is not on par with another child. Development is a natural process. Your responsibility as parents is to just provide your child with the best nutritional food, your presence and your love for the child will help him grow beautifully. Do keep a check of the milestones and development stages of your little one. Any change that you feel is not right; you can always consult your pediatrician.

Enjoy, cherish and treasure every moment spent with your baby as it is like a beautiful dream come true. Happy Parenting!
